Excessive exercise can Damage Male Fertility
Keeping the body healthy and fit is important to maximize the chances of the couple having a baby. Well, exercise is one way to maintain the health and fertility. Wait, but do not exercise much because it can interfere with male fertility.
"Approximately 30-40 percent of men experience impotence," said Christina Spaccavento, a sex therapist and relationship counselor, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Tuesday (04/12/2012).
Spaccavento explain impotence can occur as a result of medical conditions, psychological or emotional. It can be lifelong or situational.
Well, excessive exercise can also damage the natural fertility of the male. Because excessive exercise can increase levels of the stress hormone cortisol which lowers testosterone levels.
"There is evidence that some resistance training can affect reproductive hormone profiles several men, especially to reduce their testosterone levels," says consultant gynecologist Mike Bowen of Saxon Clinic.
Also according to the Vinod Nargund, a urology surgeon at St Bartholomew's and Homerton Hospital in London, too much cycling is also dangerous because it can lead to male impotence. This is due to prolonged pressure from a bicycle saddle on the perineum, the area of skin behind the scrotum. This is where the nerves and blood vessels into the penis.
Because it's so male fertility is not compromised then avoid excessive exercise. When cycling, choose a soft saddle and if possible kayuhlah bike while standing.
